One of my favourite prayers

Apr. 15th, 2008 | 07:53 am

I want to share with you this prayer that I pray most days. The more I say it, the deeper its meaning grows and it soften my heart, so I hope it will have similar affects on you. It goes like this. 'May I dear Father learn to have compassion for sinners, knowing that I could be a worst sinner than the one I am judging. May I learn to love and even like more and more people of all sorts. May I stop being a snob. May I be free of all prejudices for your sake and may I recognize you in my brothers and sisters and may they recognize you in me too. For the glory and praise of your name and through the merits of Jesus Christ my saviour and holy brother please answer my prayer.'

Easter

Apr. 5th, 2007 | 06:02 am

Jesus asked Gabrielle Bossis to comfort Him in the garden, by offering up all the praise of the angels and saints in heaven. So I am now starting to practise that too. Since it is Good Friday I thought that I will treat Good Friday as if He is actually on the cross right now. I know God sees all times through out the ages, in the present moment, because He revealed that to Gabrielle. So it gives me courage to know if I show compassion for Him on Good Friday, someway, somehow Jesus is receiving my love and graditude for Him on the actual day of His crucifixion. And I know that it does comfort Him. So I ask if you too will practise it, it brings you so much closer to Him. Have a good and up lifting Easter that may He answers all your prayers.

We all make mistakes

Feb. 1st, 2007 | 11:04 am

Doing the things the wrong way is hard and frustrating for us. And it seems we have to make the same mistake repeatedly before we begin to see where we have gone wrong. But isn't that wonderful we have a God who understands us and have the patience to teach and wait for us to learn. What would we do if God wasn't as patient as he is? We are so lucky that our God is good and not evil. We may not understand Him too well, but we are luckier than lucky. We are loved beyond measure.

True friends

Jan. 17th, 2007 | 09:46 am

I wonder how many people have true friends. I usually have one at a time for a few enjoyable years and then we part for all sorts of reasons. I think I am lucky, because my true friends are very special to me. I think it is really rare to meet someone and be truely yourself. Oftern people misunderstand you, we presume too much and not really listen to one another. How many of us have problems communicating, its like we all have a unique language of our own and nobody quiet understands it, even with your bests of friends. That part is reserve for God alone. You can be truely yourself with Him, but no one else I believe. once you get use to that idea, I think only then can you start to live with yourself comfortably. You have a private place where you are free to be yourself.

Being yourself

Dec. 27th, 2005 | 10:39 pm

People are afraid to act differently to anyone else. And so are stunting our growth. To be brave and be yourself even if it means to be disliked is a sign of spiritual maturity. In many ways we are very much alike, but don't know it. Most of us are controlled by the fear of what other people think of us. They may think we are strange, but so what. If more people planned to be themselves I think there would be less stress in the world. Let people either like or dislike you, it doesn't really matter, as long as you like yourself. I think the more we are ourselves the more we attract people to us that we like. Because we are letting people know whole we really are. If they dislike me, I personally prefer to be disliked by who I really am, then to be dislike by what they think I am like. Of course it would be a wonderful world if people weren't so judgemental, but the more courage we have being ourselves the more joy I believe we get out of life. We don't have to prove ourselves with anyone. We don't need to because we accept ourselves as we are and we need to be our best friend.

Sharing our beliefs

Oct. 29th, 2005 | 10:00 pm

Offering one another beliefs is a great way to learn. We learn more from listening than talking. To be challenge is not such a bad thing, especially if we are spiritually mature enough to agree to disagree sometimes. Respecting one anothers differences is an act of brotherly love. And knowing we are not always right doesn't matter how vigorously we belive that we are correct, is an act of humility. We can be friends and still allow one another to be different. Sometimes our religious beliefs are so different we need to respect that, and have complete trust in the graciousness of God, that he doesn't expect us to be right all the time, after all we are only learning, and we are all very slow learners at that.

Enjoying each day

Oct. 10th, 2005 | 11:34 pm

One of lifes secrets is how to enjoy life to the fullest and one way to do this is not to wait for something to happen before you start enjoying yourself. To look at what is already good in your life now. People always think if I have this then I will be happy, but the truth is that there will always be something to challenge us. We can choose to dwell on things that we like to be different to the point we lose sight of the good things in our lives. We shouldn't take our lives for granted or our love ones. So while we have still have the chance to learn to enjoy each day as it comes, we will be doing ourselves and everybody else a favour. Misery doesn't make pleasant company, but joy does and it is contagious too. We can spread joy around us from one person to the next. We all have this gift, but we have to work at it, before it becomes a habit.

Know yourself

Sep. 25th, 2005 | 11:21 pm

To know yourself is very important. I find people are too worldly as a whole to realise how important it is. To know yourself can get you out of scrapes, because you know your limitations and strengths. Most people don't know themselves very well, though they think they do and would feel insulted if you told them otherwise. It is true that you don't stop growing and therefore you learn more and more about yourself everyday. People take too much notice of what other people think of them and not find out the truth about themselves. We have all good and bad points and the more we learn about them the more we learn about each other. The more we pratise unconditional love towards ourselves the more we would do the same for other people. Because although we are very different from one another we are also very similar. So the more we learn about who we are the more we are tend to live a full life.

Are you angry with God

Sep. 12th, 2005 | 12:03 am

Sometimes we are angry with God, but we don't open up to our anger, incase God will punish us horribly. I believe that you may as well tell Him about it, because He knows anyway. And I don't think God will get angry at us, just because we are, providing that we acknowledge Gods love for us and that He is a whole lot wiser then we are. The reason we aren't getting our own way, maybe because God is trying to teach us something. But being in a temper with God is sometimes normal for us human beings and God knows it. Talk to Him about it and let Him heal and teach you to trust Him. If we don't let our temper out in a orderly fashion it will come out another way, that we might regret later. God loves us and children oftern put on tantrums, it doesn't stop parents loving their children does it? Instead of a tantrum, just talk honestly and openingly about your temper with Him and what caused it. I know He will bless you for it.

We must go deep within

Aug. 30th, 2005 | 12:24 am

To go deep within us, we will find love and eternal truth. I believe God lives in the center of our being and it takes practise to learn to rest in him. To let Gods spirit work in and through us is what I mean by resting in him. I belive the quickest way to become one with him is to pray regularly and to have a love for solitude. Where nobody else holds our attention. When God becomes our constant companion. The more we are centered in him, the stronger will our union will be. The more he will enlighten us and the stronger our love will grow. Not only will we love God, but we will love ourselves and our neighbour too. It is a life long process, which takes us deeper and deeper into his spirit. It usually doesn't happen over night. It takes time and effort.

being happy with what we have

Aug. 21st, 2005 | 11:39 pm

To be happy with what we have, doesn't mean we don't try to improve our situation, if we have the opportunity to do so. But enjoying what you have keeps you from being depressed. There is so much to be grateful for. And their is always somebody who is worst off then ourselves. Trying to take one day at a time is also a great help in hard times. We can't see what is in the future and bad times doesn't stay around forever even though it may seem so. I know some people can suffer for a couple of decades at a time, but when it is all over, the good times are enjoyed much more, and we always learn a great more in bad times, for some reason. Jesus said that the world is a valley of tears, but that doesn't mean it is all bad. If we look around us, we will find things that can lighten up our days with.

Doing Gods will is hard work

Jul. 25th, 2005 | 12:27 am

We are taught in society that life is to be totally enjoyed. It also teaches that if it is not the case then it is an abnormal time in our lives. I disagree. I think good times and bad times are just part of life. Life is a struggle more times than not. Doing Gods will is hard work, because the world doesn't encourage you to do it. When hard times come we are usually feeling very sorry for ourselves. Hard as it is we should try to reduce the suffering by not complaing about it. The more we think about how miserable we are the more miserable we get. If we try to see the good things in our life the best we can, I believe it will lighten our cross.

To be successful

Jul. 10th, 2005 | 01:13 am

Many people have different ideas of what is to be successful. Some people think it is to be rich, famous and be good looking. To me to be successful is to live a rewarding life and I think the only way you can do that is to be honest with yourself. We are all here on earth for a reason. And I think deep down we know the reason. To me it is that little persistant voice inside drawing us to do something in our life. It maybe to serve in some charity that you are constantly be drawn too. Or a vocation or it maybe simply being nice to people that you come in contact with. When you answer your calling it will be hard, but so fulfilling. We don't rest untill we do what we are called to do.

What is wisdom

Jul. 1st, 2005 | 05:29 pm

A wise person never considers themselves wise, because there is always something new to learn. I believe we will eternally grow and become wise if we are willing to learn from our mistakes and from people who have lived a full life. What I mean by that some people lives are protected so the only thing that they learn about is what I want. In other words ME ME ME. But people who suffered a lot in life can learn much from their pain. They grow wiser and more loving in time. Those who keeps working towards growth and have the faith that good can come out of pain. These people know how to enjoy themselves too when there trial is over. More so than people who have protected lives.
